Tara was asking today about H's love of playing ball. The fun thing about H and playing ball is that it doesn't take really any prompting from us. We don't push him to play ball, he just wants to. When he was about 2, he decided he wanted to learn to punt a football and he practiced until he got it. At first he would drop the ball and kick at the same time; it hit the ground many times before he got the timing. He then moved on to dribbling a basketball. He just wanted to do it and practiced on his own initiative. This last week or so he was been working on catching a ball while jumping which is a great skill for a receiver, goal keeper, forward, first baseman, etc. HA! It reminds me a bit of the punting learning, he jumps as soon as the ball is thrown instead of waiting for it, he'll get it though. He is a hoot. And a joy to be with. I love playing soccer with him too, he just gets to laughing so hard. He is commonly spotted running through the house dribbling a beach ball, one of may favorites because it is light and seldom breaks things! Here is a picture of my 2 year old punter.
